The Sprig of Acacia

by Freemasonic Educators contributor
Br. Manuel Sanchez

The sprig of Acacia was used by Hebrew people to mark the location of a grave and to show their belief in immorality. The acacia is an evergreen, meaning that its leaves neither fall in the summer nor in winter.

In masonry, the Sprig of Acacia has a mythical history and is intimately connected with the legend of the third degree or Master Mason Degree.

This symbol is interesting and delightful, mainly for symbolizing such a sacred plant.

The Quest

What is a Quest? A Quest is defined as "a search or pursuit made in order to find or obtain something"

As Masons, we are on a Quest or in search for Light or seeking the essence of Masonic Teachings.
